Southchip has introduced a new high-end automotive-grade MCU PMIC SC6258XQ, designed to provide efficient and stable power support for MCU core in systems such as domain controllers, body control modules, powertrains, and ADAS. SC6258XQ has obtained ISO26262 ASIL-D functional safety certification and AEC-Q100 certification. It features low static current and high energy efficiency, supporting the diverse functions of high-end MCUs in automotive systems.

SC6258XQ employs a high-voltage converter pre-regulation + low-voltage converter output target voltage architecture, integrating multiple power rails, including 1 buck-boost controller, 2 buck converters, 1 high-voltage LDO, and multiple post-LDOs for MCU main power supply, core power supply, peripheral interface power supply, ADC power supply, and sensor power supply. In standby mode, the static current is as low as 20μA, and in sleep mode, it is as low as 300μA, effectively reducing energy dissipation and extending the driving miles of electric vehicles.
As the functional safety requirements for automotive electrical systems, domain control, chassis, and other systems are upgraded, and demand for functional safety MCUs in a single vehicle exceeds 10 units, and the corresponding demand for ASIL-D PMICs will also increase. SC6258XQ integrates independent analog and digital monitoring modules, configurable window watchdog and Q&A watchdog, dual safety state output, and built-in self-test for analog and logic circuits, providing comprehensive protection at the ASIL-D functional safety level for customers.
SC6258XQ offers system-level functions such as AMUX and external voltage monitoring, and supports flexible power-up/power-down sequences. It is compatible with mainstream automotive-grade MCUs.
The launch of SC6258XQ and SC6259XQ further completes Southchip’s automotive-grade PMIC product portfolio, transitioning from sensor modules to key body SBCs, creating more value for customers. Southchip’s automotive solutions are oriented towards future green and intelligent mobility, covering applications such as intelligent driving, body control, intelligent cockpit, and on-board charging, committed to providing one-stop chip solutions for customers. We are rooted in customer R&D scenarios, continuously iterating custom designs based on customer applications, helping customers design products with higher efficiency, integration, and safety in automotive core application areas more quickly.
